I sought Your Feet to escape from the fearful cycle of death and birth;

This shows Nayaki Swamin has not chosen Vaishnava path as a mutually exclusive alternative to the Yoga path. It occurs to me, he had practiced both side-by-side.

"saanaastak" is the original... but the literal meaning would be "without looking at the defects, will I learn good ways in the world?" which does not make logical sense to me as it implies that the fault finding which we all despise will make somebody better!... So, I took it as follows: "without committing errors and from the resultant suffering, will I learn good ways in the world?" and continuing this "When will You come and fix me?"... please re-read and see if you disagree or have different interpretation...

Govardanan Laguduva After re-reading, this is how I would like to interpret: "O Lord, would you connive at my faults and thus lead me to a good life (in spite of them)".

It's not my experiencing the faults, but God ignoring my faults that is emphasized.

(to connive = to avoid noticing something that one is expected to oppose or condemn)

In your version this chaarvaaka attitude is missing... If you can think about a simpler version with the attitude, i am open for it.

The reference of Holy Feet in many Hindu scriptures refers to salvation (or padam)! Considering that and "lovvo", here it means Sahasrara, so I used figuratively as "Red Lotus Feet on my head"... I can perhaps put this foot note with Salvation to make it more readable... Let me know your thought on condescend...

Ramesh Neelmegh Condescend also means to favor, to descend and in this example it is an appropriate usage of the term because the devotee is imploring the Almighty to grant a favor

Govardanan Laguduva As Ramesh Neelmegh ji has pointed out, to condescend is to get down (deign) to do a favour. (Cf. Tamil "irangaayO" -- not IRangaayO!).The egotistic attitude of a superior, also implied in "condescend", is not applicable to this context.
